You are getting your newsletter early this week because I am feeling ambitious (and my Adderall is working overtime today). You’re welcome.
4 outfit formulas to keep in mind the next time you’re standing in your closet thinking “I have nothing to wear!”. Well you do. All of these outfits are made up of clothing items that you probably already have in your closet.
+ links to recreate these looks if you’re in the market to buy things.
OUTFIT 1:
camp collar shirt + trousers + a belt + a sleek boot
Styling notes:
I think a tucked in shirt (or even half tucked shirt) is chic for the night time, but it is not a requirement for this look.
The preference is for high waisted trousers but honestly any will do.
Could also do this look with a knitted polo.
I like a belt when a shirt is being tucked in. If you are not tucking in your shirt the belt is not necessary.
OUTFIT 2:
cardigan + tee or tank top + light wash straight leg denim + loafers
Styling notes:
You can wear the cardigan open or buttoned, but I think it is more clean when it is buttoned for night time.
I think a white tube sock is chic with a loafer (especially when pairing it with light wash denim), but go with what makes you most comfortable.
OUTFIT 3:
over sized white button down + relaxed fit trousers + loafers + hat
Styling notes:
Go for an oversized button down for this look, not slim fitted.
I am super into the pinstripe thing right now, but if that isn’t your vibe - any trouser works.
Wear the button down untucked with at least 2 buttons unbuttoned.
Go with a chucky loafer over a sleek one, if you have it.
Wear stacked necklaces with this look - just trust me.
OUTFIT 4:
tank top + oversized blazer + straight leg jeans + belt + sleek boots
Styling notes:
Tucking the tank top in will make your legs look longer.
Wear a belt with this look, for sure.
It looks best with an oversized blazer (these are so easy to thrift - or steal from your fathers).
Accessorize the s*** out of this look.
The point of this post was to make outfits from things that are already in your closet, however, if you are in the market to buy things and like these looks - here are some links to recreate them.
