I saw a article recently from GQ or Mr. Porter or something who’s title was “Shirts Are Going To Be Big For Summer 2024”. Like….. duh?
Anyways now that the obvious has been established, let’s discuss the only 4 shirts you need for summer 2024:
An Embroidered Shirt
A Knitted Shirt
A Colorful Printed Shirt
A Lace Shirt
AN EMBROIDERED SHIRT
In my opinion, an embroidered shirt is the ideal summer shirt. It just gives whimsical, playful and unserious. I mean, what more could you ask for in a summer shirt.
Pair with: linen pants and a sandal or cotton shorts and loafers
A LACE SHIRT
A lace shirt is great for multiple reasons but the main one being it boosts extra ventilation - making them great for form and function. Wearing a semi-see through shirt might be too daring for some but for those that are unbothered by the sheerness, a lace shirt is the perfect way to make a statement and stay cool.
Pair with: flowy trousers and mules or chino shorts and fisherman sandals
A KNITTED SHIRT
Somewhere between a classic shirt and a cardigan, falls the knitted shirt. Wear them open over a tank paired with shorts or buttoned tucked into trousers - whatever way you go, a knitted shirt is guaranteed to add some fun texture to your summer look.
Pair with: pleated pants and loafers or denim shorts and sneakers
A COLORFUL PRINTED SHIRT
If there is a time to embrace color, print and patterns - it’s summer time. If you’re one of those guys that is intimidated by styling loud pieces, totally understandable. My advice? Make the shirt the focal point of the outfit and keep the rest of the look toned down. You won’t feel so overwhelmed this way.
