Rep Your School But Don't Look Like A Fool
dressing with school spirit is an art not a science.
It’s March Madness timeeeee. With so much hype comes so much responsibility. What watch parties will you be going to? How will you hide your phone during meetings so not to miss your favorite team play at 11am? And most importantly (to me) - what are you wearing?!
Well, obviously I have some thoughts. To start, what you’re not going to wear is a techy polo made out of polyester and spandex with some ABC pants. No no no no sir. We are all adults here. It’s time to move past the moisture wicking materials and grow up a bit.
To be fair, I know there is a lot to consider. Obviously, it’s March so there is the unpredictable weather. Game times are all over the place and sometimes you might be at the office when your team is suppose to play. Let me help you!! Here are a few outfit ideas to display school spirit but with style.
FOR THE OFFICE
We have to keep it professional, duh, therefore we must go with something that has a collar. I think any version of a cotton pique polo with university branding on the pocket would work. Key word being cotton. Classic, timeless, grown up.
You can always use accessories to implement your school spirit in a subtle way i.e. with socks or pins.
Or, maybe you don’t need school branding at all. If you attended a school with an elegant colorway, just simply wear your school colors. What’s that quote? “Only the unsure feel they need to shout”. Yah, that sounds right.
FOR THE BAR/WATCH PARTIES
A simple crewneck paired with trousers, sneakers and a hat would be perfect. I’m pretty adamant that school branding should be limited to only one article of clothing.
Similarly, a t-shirt with a cardigan (preferably one in your school colors) over it, jeans and loafers - very chic.
A classic comfortable look elevated with a colorful sneaker would be so fun.
As always, thank you for being here an supporting me in this way xo
