Fall lines are starting to drop so that means we can talk about my favorite topic - PANTS. Now, all capsules I have been looking forward to aren’t out yet - so you’ll have to bookmark my ShopMy. I’ll be updating my recs regularly.
As I’ve mentioned a few posts ago, we are in a time of genre-less menswear. There is nothing particularly trendy currently. Sure, there are general guidelines, but there is nothing specific you need to be “in”.
ALLS THAT TO SAY, the pant rotation I propose is quite simple:
corduroy pants
dark wash denim
wide leg trousers
olive color pants
track pants
Corduroy Pants
Not as ostentatious as velvet but a close sartorial second. Corduroy feels festive and right for fall. I love the texture factor and the sort of 70’s air it can bring to a look.
Noah NY has this stunning salt wash brown pant that is to die for. I could see it styled with a cream sweater, a denim shirt, a white tee… the options are endless. Corridor has an equally stunning brown pair but with a wider leg - which I always appreciate. If you are looking for more of a cream corduroy, you must go check out A Kind of Guise or A.P.C. And lastly if you are looking for black corduroy, Universal Works has a great pleated option with a loose fit.
Dark Wash Denim
This is not to say that you shouldn’t be wearing light wash denim during the fall. I want to make that so clear. I love light wash denim in the fall. I am just assuming that you already have a pair that you bought earlier this year for spring/summer.
My absolute favorite pair is the Auralee. The wash is gorgeous, the length seems to be perfect on literally everyone (my sample size was 3 to be fair) and I just love how it falls. Natalino has a fantastic high waisted pair. OBVIOUSLY, I have to bring up the Our Legacy stripe jean. Its not revolutionary at this point, but I still find it beautiful. Never Cursed is a massively impressive brand that HAND MAKES jeans. They have a high rise with a slouchy silhouette that is more timeless and tasteful than trendy. And lastly, thank you to Blackbird Spyplane, I discovered Joswick. I have not stopped thinking about these jeans since I saw them. Such a show stopper.
Wide Leg Trousers
It’s rare that an article of clothing can be comfortable and chic, but a wide leg trouser defiantly is just that. I love the relaxed, slouchy casual yet elevated vibe this pant provides. Pair with an over sized oxford and sneakers or a tee and loafers. There are truly so many ways to go.
In my opinion, Sunflower makes THE BEST wide leg trousers money can buy. I personally love a pinstripe for fall, but last time I said that I was attacked by the internet trolls (so shhhh). COS is really impressive lately. They are giving The Row, but like… affordable. Studio Nicholson also has an excellent pair. And lastly, Beams Plus. I like the checked pattern of this pair - very fall. Its such a versatile pair of pants, so easy to dress up or down.
Olive Pants
Whether its a fatigue, carpenter, cargo, or chino - an olive pant can take you so far in the fall. I mean to be honest, what other season are you even wearing an olive pant?!
This one from A.P.C has an excellent loose fit and is cropped at the perfect length. If you hate the wide leg trendy - go for these from NN07. Universal Works and Carhartt have a sort of medium width pant. And of course, Beams Plus provides us with the widest leg option.
Track Pants
You guys know I love a high/low moment. I was obsessed with styling adidas soccer shorts with loafers this spring, and the infinity continues into the fall. You probably have a pair of these sitting in the back of your closet somewhere, but in case you are in the market for a fresh pair, I love these white ones from Fila - so chic. Now, if you have never owned a pair of these and you don’t feel like spending $70 on athletic pants, I recommend Ebay. I found this vintage Y2K Nike pair for just $30.
As always, thank you for being here and supporting me in this way xo
