OKAY, I know, it’s still 90 degrees outside. But I feel it’s never too early to start, at least, thinking about fall’s greatest pleasure: knitwear.
Here are the 4 types of knits every guy needs in their wardrobe this fall + styling suggestions:
A Cardigan
If you aren’t convinced by now to get on the cardigan train, I don’t know what to tell you. I’ve only mentioned it 800 times since I started talking about fall. But I’ll give you one last rant anyways.
During the Crimean War, British officer Lieutenant General James Brudenell, also known as the Seventh Earl of Cardigan, led his troops into a doomed battle. While it was a bad day for the Earl, I suppose he should be proud that his name was given to the sweater-coat style worn during battle, which inspired the modern day cardigan.
Obviously, today, it’s not a garment I would recommend for battle. However it does come in handy when extra warmth or flexibility is required. Cardigans are also a great chance for you to inject something fun like color or texture into your look.

Knit Polo
A versatile piece that sits between a shirt and a sweater, a knit polo really comes into its own during the transitional months. A knit polo can be worn in so many ways. Dressed up or down, open or buttoned up, with a tank under or with nothing under. The possibilities are truly endless
How To Style:

A Sweater
A good sweater is a mainstay in any self respecting man’s wardrobe. If any staple deserves the title of ”essential”, it’s a sweater during the fall. Just because a sweater is a classic, doesn’t mean it needs to be boring. Your sweater can be a pop of layered color, or the center point of your outfit. It can also add some much needed texture and spice into your look.

Sweater Vest
Once the go to uniform for geeks and granddads, a sweater vest is now worn on the backs of the best dressed men. A sweater vest is truly an all season essential and can be so versatile. You can wear it as an outer most layer of your outfit or styled underneath a relaxed blazer.
