The ambiguous “garden party” theme seems to be omnipresent on so many spring/summer wedding invitations.
So let’s discuss how to achieve that perfect level of sprezzatura for your next spring/summer wedding.
Whether its a welcome party, the actual wedding or a reception; my assumption is this shindig will be hosted outside during the warmer months. Here are just some general guidelines when putting together your look:
The goal here is to look put together, yet at ease.
You want light and breathable fabrics so go for: cotton, linen, silk, seersucker or poplin.
Light colors are preferable. Brown is the exception because I think it looks great against greenery.
A matching suit is fine, however if you want the look of easy nonchalance - go for miss matched top and bottom.
TOPS
A long sleeve button down is great, of course, but if you run hot, it might not be the best choice for you. Going for a lux t-shirt or a short sleeve button down might work out better. Oh and feel free to let a little chest show, slutty is totally in for 2024.
BLAZERS
The linen blazer is the perfect choice to look elegant and fresh at the same time. A double breasted blazer will defiantly increase the formality level of your look, plus they are trendy right now.
PANTS
Airy is what we are going for. Anything with a looser fits or pleats would be perfect.
