Fashion month has wrapped which means a whole new set of trends and style nuances are coming your way. I always enjoy the men’s wear during woman’s wear shows - the styling is always more fun.
This season was all about dressing up and focusing on personal style. If you want to take a risk, now is the time to do it. Put together pieces that don’t make sense at first glance. There is something beautiful about controlled chaotic dressing.
Here are the stand out style trends for men’s wear from fashion month.
Snatch The Waist
The number one thing I noticed on sooo many runways was a cinched waist. We’ve been living in a slouchy and oversized era for so long, it’s kind of fun to see things oversized and cinched. Now, I know it’s hard to find pieces that are structurally snatched at the waist, however you can make shift it. Use a belt, rope or even a sweater around your waist to get the same effect.
Oooh, That Sounded Really Bratty
It's hard to wear bright colors as an adult without looking like a jovial frat boy. However, what this season’s runways have taught me is; if you use black or even brown to ground the bright color, you can make it look classy without being childish.
Peter Pan Syndrome
Once consider a fashion faux pas, can now be called an antiqued rule - tucking your ants into boots. I personally don’t loooove it with jeans. I like it so much better done with trousers. The way the fabric billows out is quite nice. Does it give Peter Pan? Yes. But in a cool way.
Not A Waist Of Time
Apparently we are doing things to the waist. Flipping the waist band of your pants gives your look a sense of laidback-ness. There was also a lot of wearing the pants low waisted and showing off the boxers. To be honest, it’s not my style - but to each their own.
YAY Sports
Obviously, sportswear in fashion is going no where. But now we are specifically styling sporty details with formal wear pieces. We have been doing this with soccer jerseys for some time now, but now we can expand the sports paraphernalia into basketball, baseball, hockey and American football.
As always, thank you for being here and supporting me in this way xo
